♦Lancaster Co. 4-H’ers to be in Pa. dress revue By DEBRA STRICKLER GRANTHAM Messiah College became both “Plain and Fancy” for the Regional Dress Revue on July 26. The competition began with outfits exhibited by 83'4-H members from an eight county region. Karen Jor dan, Lebanon County Ex tension Home Economist, was chairman of the plan ning committee. Four senior members were selected to represent the district at 4-H state days in August. They mcluded: Marcia Bean, Hershey; Elaine . Good, Ephrata; Jennie Phillips, New Holland; and Susan Howell, New Holland. ' . Alternates in the senior division included Nancy Barrick, Cumberland County;' Colleen Hollinger, County; Lon - Kenepp, Lancaster County; Beth Schneider, York County; Sue Swartz, York County; and Karen Updike, Adams County. Marcia Bean created a fully lined, plaid wool skirt, sewn on the bias. Her vest was made from a coor dinating sweater knit and her maroon blouse had long set-m sleeves. A semi-fitted lined jacket with shoulder pads and a notch collar was shown by Elaine Good. She also wore a vest with fitted front and V neckline. Her A-line skirt Completed the outfit, with a center front one-way pleat. Jennie Phillips wore an A line plaid wool skirt. The skirt was fully lined and featured a Hong Kong hem. She also modeled a satin blouse with a notched collar and long set in sleeves gathered into buttoned cuffs. A velveteen vest with covered buttons accented the outfit. A floor length gown of white embroidered eyelet in a polyester cotton blend was created by Susan Howell. (Turn to Page 44) X*.
