Fed Cattle prices were forced downward in early trading under the combined influence of rather liberal marketings and a lower trend in a slow-moving carcass trade. Only a portion of the early decline was regained in midweek trading as supplies contracted, and carcass prices firmed, but closing trade was active. Yield Grade was often a major price-determining factor with best demand for choice yield grade 3. The overall finish of the Steer and Heifer supply was again attractive with a liberal percentage Choice although many were mixed Yield Grade 3 and 4, and several consignments predominant ly 4 1200-1400 lbs.
