Preliminary results of a five-year university study provide proof of the Circu-Lator’s ability to save the user fuel cost Under the proper operating condi tions the Circu-Lator can save up to 50 percent in energy costs compared to a drying bin equipped with a stir ring device, according to the study The superiority of the Shivvers system can be attributed to three major factors First, the drying zone is always buried. The drying zone is that area in which the wet gram releases water vapor and the hot air absorbs moisture—where the actual drying takes place In the Shivvers system the hot air becomes completely saturated since the drying zone is always below wet gram The drying air must always pass through at least two feet—and sometimes 16 feet—of wet gram before it is exhausted fully saturated GAYLORD EQUIPMENT 88 Ridge Rd., Monmouth Jet., NJ. 08852 CALL NOW!!! 201-329-2666 (day) or 609-799-8647 (night) Lancaster Farming, Saturday, June 23,1979 Heart disease Screening Program in cooperation with the Manheim Township Woman’s Club on Wed nesday, June 27 from 1 p.m. 12,813 20,002 16,014 14,619 7-8 4-2 4-0 1-9 12,873 3-1 2-5 2-0 2-2 2-3 13,507 17,153 13,636 13,199 14,801 4-9 13,835 8-2 7-1 5-10 4-10 4-5 4-11 4-7 14,546 13,270 17,921 18,343 16,746 15,643 17,606 20,287 15,030 19,425 16,529 15,505 15,143 13,524 17,475 14,339 8-7 ESS » * * to 7 p.m. at the Manheim Township Ambulance Association Building on Municipal Drive which is off the Oregon Pike. Appointments are necessary and can be made -by calling the Heart Office at 717-3934)725. A $3 donation is requested to defray direct costs of the screening. , This is a screening program to detect any risk factors which you may have that increase your chances of having heart disease. The purpose is to identify people at risk and refer them into the medical care system for further evaluation and treatment. With this pur pose, it is vital that tbe person requesting this screening give us the name and address of their physician so that if they are found to be at risk we may send a report to him. Anyone not giving a physician’s name will not be allowed to complete the testing. 43 35 42 40 546 709 672 592 39 500 37 35 40 44 36 503 593 543 583 534 4.2 578 37 531 Vi \m s Ja Over drying wastes fuel. With the Circu-Lator all grain is dried uniformly. As soon as the grain dries, it is removed from the bottom of the bin in a thin even layer by Shiwers’ exclusive Tapered Sweep Auger. This eliminates the over drying of gram at the bottom level and under drying at the top level which can occur with a stirring device. Added efficiency at no additional cost comes from the cooling pro cess—the third important factor con tributing to Shiwers’ superiority. Gram is removed from the drying bin at about 120°F and is transferred to the storage bin where it cools slowly. Cooling is accomplished by passing a low volume of air through the gram, removing an additional one to two percent of moisture as the gram and air temperatures equalize. In effect the grain steeps in the storage bin, creating a slow cooling aeration process similar to dryeration. This extra drying is nearly free—the only cost being the electric power to run a small aeration fan for two to three days / 121
