—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, June 23,1979 106 Societies Berks Co, Society 1 Berks County Farm Women Society 1 held their June meeting at the home of Mrs. Naomi Howard, Oley Rl. Sixteen members were in attendance. A donation was made toward the expenses of Jeffery Boch, Reading R 7, who is a kidney recipient. The next meeting will be held July 11,7:30 p.m. at the home of Linda Levan, Oley Rl, featuring a doggie roast. Berks Co, Society 3 Berks County Farm Women Society 3 took a mystery trip during their recent meeting. The ladies visited the Swiss cheese factory in Leola and the New Holland Farm Museum. The ladies were served dinner at the home of Amos and Rachel King, Narvon. The King’s are members of the Old Order Mennonites. The food they served was all home-grown, baked and raised. During the business meeting the ladies voted to send four guests of the Hamburg State School to Summer camp. After dinner, the women visited Schaeffers at Kissell Hill, and Good’s Country store at Shady Grove. Their final stop was to the Hay Loft, a converted bam where they made candles and home-made ice cream, near The next meeting will be June 26, at the home of Mrs. Ralph Baus, Boyertown Rl, at 7:30 p.m. It will be a youth program. Berks Co, Society 9 The June meeting of the Berks County Farm Women Society 9 was held in the home of Mrs. Nancy Gross, Douglassville R 2. The guest speaker was Susanne Qafine, of “Nature’s Gar den.” She discussed natural and health foods. A special project was announced-the creation of CREUTZBURG. INC. Lancaster Co, Society 2 The Lancaster County Farm Women Society 2 met at the home of President Martha Brandt; three guests attended. Co-hostess was Elizabeth Shank. The ladies of Society 2 gave donations to the FFA, and FHA, and the Blind Association. Ladies will sponsor a bus trip to Ocean City, on August 4. For the upcoming safety meeting, members' are urged to bring a safety tip to share with others. The annual picnic will be held at the Lampeter Camp grounds on August 1. The ladies will form a telephone relay to inform members of Society hap penings between regularly scheduled meetings. In the month of October, ladies will sew at the Lan caster Osteopathic Hospital.
