This year the pageant will be held on June 16 at 7 p.m. m the Sheraton- Berkshire Inn, Wyomissmg, as the ‘Grand Finale’ of a very busy week. The contestants appeared throughout the week of June 11 to 16 at the Berkshire Mall, Wyomissmg as part of Ag-Expo Week. They had been involved recently m many workshops concerning nutrition, etiquette, poise, skin and hair care, and public speaking in preparation for the pageant and the continuing duties of the newly chosen princess. Among other activities, they schedule appearances during Ag-Expo Week, which officially began with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The contestants include; Cheryl Adam, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Adam, Hamburg R 2. Cheryl is a senior at Hamburg Area High School and is presently serving as president of the FFA chapter there. She has also been involved in 4-H for nine years and shows steers, hogs, and dairy cattle. In the future Cheryl hopes to get involved with Extension work. The Adams family presently milk 140 Holstems. Melissa Clay, 17, daughter of Mrs. Janet Lea Clay and residing with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Moyer, Bemville R 2. She has been a member of the FFA chapter there and is raising two Holstems of her own. Melissa plans to continue farming now that she has completed her schooling. The Moyers milk 95 Holstems. Annette, 16, will be a junior at Oley Valley High School this Fall and is interested in studying agriculture at college. Nancy Latshaw, 18, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Latshaw, Alburtis HI. Nancy attended Brandywine Heights High School, graduating this year with honors, and plans to attend the Reading Hospital School of Nursing. Nancy has been very active in 4-H and the Berks County Junior Holstein Club. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and par ticipated in many school activities. Debra is a senior at Conrad Weiser High School and plans to continue studying machine design drafting. Hartman, Hamburg R 2. Carol has recently graduated from. Hamburg Area High School and has been very active in 4-H, serving as newsreporter for the Berks County Council.
