The survey, conducted by
USDA’s Human Nutrition
Center, shows that the
households, which averaged
3.1 persons spent '-$l7 per
week on food eaten in the
home, $l4 per week for food
eaten awav from home.

the survey conducted in the
Spring of 1977.
Some other highlights of the
survey:
* Suburban households
were larger, -spent more
money on food than those in
central-city and non
metropolitan areas.
* As income increased, the
percentage of money spent
on food eaten away from
home increased from 14
percent for households below
the $5OOO per year level, to 29
percent for households with
$20,000 per year and above.
The Lebanon County Soil Conservation Speaking contest was held recently at
the Cedar Crest Middle School. Marilyn Deaven (center) and Theresa Ebling
(right) received a gift of trees for placing first and second, respectively. Clair
Gerbrich, representing the Soil Conservation District presented the awards.

start at 7:30 p.m.
All leaders of clubs in
Lancaster County are
required to attend this
meeting and bring their club
officers, teen leaders and
County Council represen
tatives.

County office on June 1.
