Somites Berks Co, Society 1 Mrs. Lillian Hetrick, Oley, hosted the May meeting of Berks County Farm Women Society 1. A decorated "Everybody’s Birthday” cake was served by the hostess to eighteen members and one guest, Donna Hetrick. Vice President Esther Berndt opened the meeting. A donation was given to the Berks County Agricultural Expo which will be held June 10-17 at the Berkshire Mall. -Five patients from Hamburg Center will be sponsored to summer camp by the Society. Lancaster Co, Society 2 Lancaster County Farm' Women Society 2 entertained Society 23 on May 13 at the Farm and Home Center, Lancaster, at a covered dish social. Society 19 Lancaster County Farm Women Society 19 met at the Lititz Church of the Brethren on May 5. Mrs Dorothy Graybill was the hostess Thegroup voted to support the Blind Association as the County project for this year. The program was a tour of Oberholtzer’s Greenhouse located at Bnckerville. Members will be attending the Spring Rally on May 16 at Elizabethtown College. Next meeting is a tour of the Welsh Mountain Clinic. Members will meet at Lancaster Shopping Center at 12-20 p.m. on June 9, for that meeting. The Society will also supply food and help for a food stand at Martha Musser’s sale on June 16. Lancaster farming, aaiurnay, may xv, 13/3-si Lebanon Co. i h x Society 5 On May 8, 17 members of the County Farm Women Society 5 met at the Mt. Zion Road Church of the Brethren with Sara Tyrpm as hostess. Alma Geesaman, a student at Lebanon County Vo-tech, gave a demon stration of working with sweet yeast dough. Everyone got a taste of the finished product. A donation was given to the Halcyon Club towards a new van. Also, a bake sale will be held at the Halcyon Club on May 25. The Society has planned a bus trip to Duke Gardens on May 23rd. The bus will leave Mt. Zion at 6 a.m. The next meeting will be held on June 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mt. Zion Fire Hall. At that tune, Society 5 will entertain Societies 4,6, and 16, along with the County officers. Ten members attended the Spring Rally in Elizabethtown. Society 26 will do volunteer work at the York Hospital Fete on May 18 and 19 at the York County Fair Grounds. Mrs. Athena Beshore reported the Society’s bus trip to New York City on June 2nd has been filled. President Ruth Hake presented the Green Valley History over the last 13 years. The Society also paid tribute to Mother’s Day. A hanging basket was given to Ruth Hake by the members and also a potted plant was given to the president from County President Pat Sechrist.
