He raised 10 acres of com and works at Ridglea High Dairy Farm for experience. Ray was honored with a silver medal for his work. He also won a silver medal for his com record book. Joseph Kulp was the Chapter’s second place winner in com. Joe planted five acres of DeKalb and harvested 176 bushels per acre. He received a silver medal for his record book. The crop farming trophy went to James Wiand, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wiand. James works for his father’s dairy farm. He also raised 14 acres of com and com silage, and six acres of barley. He won a gold medal for his production book and was also the recipient of a gold medal for work ex perience and a gold medal in the state land judging contest. He had the Best Book in the Norristown Area, and was selected to attend PAFC this Summer. Receiving a trophy for on farm work experience was Arthur Kulp. Art works for S.H. MOwrer & Son, My-T-Hi dairy farm in Spring City. He won a silver medal for his field corn and wheat production books and an honorable mention in the state ag mechanics contest. Art also received the farm mechanics Foundation medal. Edward Pufko, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pufko, Birchrunville, received an off-farm working for ex perience award. Ed is the assistant manager at Proctor Wetherill Christmas Tree Farm, a choose and cut business. Ed has 25 em ployees working under him. Ed, who is the Chapter’s Chaplin, received an honorable mention in the state land judging contest.
