Livestock market an Omaha Cattle March 15,1979 Cattle * closing prices on slaughter steers were weak to 25 cents lower and heifers closed 25-50 cents lower, instances 75 cents off on Good and low-Choice 800-900 lbs. Cows were unevenly- 7 weak to 1.00 lower, mostly 50-1.00 off. Bulls were steady. The, fed cattle trade followed a reasonably stable course as marketings returned to a more normal pattern. Live prices were forced downward on Tuesday as the carcass trade trended sharply lower, but part of the downturn was regained on a meager midweek supply. However, most buying interests still confined numbers to im mediate requirements.
