Michael plans to go to Penn State or St. Augustines College in North Carolina. KATHLEEN MARIE JONES W.B. Saul Kathleen Marie Jones, a senior at the W.B. Saul School of Agricultural Sciences, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jones, Philadelphia She is serving m her second year as the secretary of the Philadelphia Area of FFA. Kathy’s work experience program began when she free-lanced as an animal caretaker during the Summer months of 1975 and 1976. During the Summer of 1977, she began work as a volunteer at the University of Pennsylvania in the School of Medicine in the Division of Laboratory Animal Medicine Kathy was again hired in 1978 to work at the University of Pennsylvania, this tune as an animal technician Kathy has participated in various F.F A activities and contests over the past two years, some of which has taken her to the state level. They include public speaking, parliamentary procedures, livestock contest, quiz bowl contests and the Pocono en vironmental educational center leadership con ference. Kathy was elected to be a delegate at the state summer convention in 1977 She was awarded the Star Chapter Farmer in March of 1978 and a Leadership award. In the future, Kathy plans to attend Penn State to major in Animal Science/Pre-Vet Medicine. Her goal for the future is to be a veterinarian and go into Disease Control research. PATTY HELNSINGER W.B. Saul Patty Hemsinger is a senior at the W.B. Saul H.S. of Agricultural Sciences. Her work experience include working on a dairy farm with 110 milking-cows. She raised rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, pigeons, turtles, and snakes at home. She used her rats in experimenting with different breeding methods. She also sold the animals to the public for a small profit. Dog grooming and growing vegetables on a rented plot have also been part of her work experience. She washed and trimmed many of her friends and realtives pets. On the vegetable plot, she grew vegetables such as com, tomatoes, peppers, carrots, and squash. Patty is presently working for a veterinarian as an animal caretaker while also helping the instructors when needed. Patty has been on many F.F.A committees, some of which include State and National Activities, W.E.A., and public relations. She has won awards in creed, demonstration, quiz bowl, showcase, and dairy judging (local and state) contests. Patty has been the class delegate for F.F.A. meetings and is presently a chapter treasurer. Her plans for the future are to go to college to become a veterinarian but before doing so, she would like to apply for the work experience abroad in the dairy area. Patty is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bolh, Philadelphia. JAMES MCDONALD W.B. Saul James McDonald is a student of Walter Biddle Saul High School and active member of the F.F.A. He has participated in the meat judgmg contest held at Penn State, at which he received a bronze medal. James’ work experiences have included working at several food markets.
