—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, November 1978 92 FFA leadership training session held HUMMELSTOWN - On October 26, the Dauphin County FFA Chapters held their annual leadership training session. The Lower Dauphin FFA Chapter served as host for the con ference. The program was opened by Jon Johnson, Lower Dauphin FFA president, who welcomed the sixty FFA members assembled to receive leadership development training. Gerry Greiner, past State FFA president and currently Dean of Students at Elizabethtown College delivered an address on the value of leadership development. Greiner stressed that leaders should be worthy of the leadership entrusted to them. Dan Witmer, state FFA vice-president, brought greetings from the State Association. Witmer spoke on the meaning of the FFA motto “Learning To Do, Doing To Learn, Earning To Live, Living To Serve’ ’. Following the addresses. Add the remaining ingredients and mix. Stuff bird and cook in the usual way. OYSTER STUFFING % cup onion IV* cup chopped celery 1 cup margarine 2 cans oysters, (8 ounce size) 8 cups bread cubes 2V* teaspoons salt teaspoon pepper Cook the onion and the celery in the margarine until the onion is tender. Mix the other ingredients in a large bowl, including the oysters, which should be drained and chopped. Pour onions and celery into bowl with other ingredients and stir together. Use to stuff as you would your regular stuffing, and cook fowl as you normally would. One session conducted by State Vice-Presidents, Dan Witmer and Delores Schraum stressed the responsibilities of chapter presidents and vice presidents. A public relations techniques session for chapter reporters was conducted by Miss Nanette Willis, a Lower Dauphin High School English in structor. Miss Mary Jane Stnte, a Lower Dauphin business instructor, spoke with the chapter secretaries in at tendance, and a session for treasurers was conducted by Jay Book, who is in charge of Lower Dauphin High School business affairs. Students who were not chapter officers were per mitted to attend the session of their choice.
