Cloister FFA Chapter to receive award EPHRATA - The highlight of the 1978 FFA National Convention, for the Cloister FFA Chapter, will be receiving of the “Gold Emblem National Award for Chapter Excellence. The Cloister Chapter is one of only two chapters in Penn sylvania to receive the Gold Emblem for chapter ac tivities. John Weiler,a 1977 graduate of Ephrata High School, has been named the North Atlantic Regional winner in Agricultural Sales and Service. He will be one of four FFA members competing for the National Award. The Cloister FFA will be leaving the high school for Kansas City, Mo. on Saturday, November 4. They will tour the Air Force Museum at Dayton, Ohio and spend the night near Richmond, Ind. Tuesday, November 7, they will tour the Harry Truman Library Museum, Independence, Mo., Register at the National FFA con vention, Kansas City, Mo., attend the agriculture career show, and the FFA vespers program. Wednesday, November 8, they will be attending the opening sessions of the convention, tour points of interest and listen to the National FFA Public Speaking Contest. Thursday, November 9, they will be attending the National FFA Foundation Award ceremony (John Weiler-National Award candidate), receive Gold Emblem Chapter Award, attend American Farmer Degree Ceremony and the Stars Over America Pagent.
