—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, October 21,1970 110 Lebanon 4-H Club leaders honored Volunteer leaders from 35 Lebanon County 4-H Clubs gathered at the Friendship Fire Hall for the Annual Leader Recognition Dinner Wednesday night. Over 100 leaders and guests heard Grover C. Gouker, Jr. emphasize the importance of a positive attitude for successful communications with young people. Mrs. Janis Horst, president of the 4-H Leaders Organization, welcomed guests and presented special recognition plaques to the following sustaining sup porters of the 4-H program in Lebanon County: The People’s National Bank of Lebanon for their annual presentation of 4-H scholarships; National Central Bank for continued support of calendar programs and Tor addtional funds to subsidize awards and trophies for 4-H achievement; Agway, Inc. and Tom Morrissey for continued support of awards for Cookie Sale projects; Lebanon Valley Exposition Corporation for'use of the Fairgrounds and for the Lebanon Area Fair. Those receiving Friends of 4-H appreciation certificates included Lebanon County Bankers Association; Lebanon County Flower Club; Lebanon County Society of Farm Women; Pinky’s of Myerstown; Layser’s Jewelers; Leiby’s Service Center, and' Um berger’s Mill. Highlighting the program was the announcement of the 1978 scholarship awards. Edgar Miller, Executive Vice President of People’s National Bank, presented scholarships to M. Jane Bomgardner, a student at Delaware Valley College; Arthur Sweinhart, sopho more at Penn State; Brian Wenger, a freshman at Indiana University of Pa. and Sue Bomberger, a Tox-O-Wik Hog Oiler Available Single Unit- Double Unit- ELMER M. Special recognition for five years service went to Mrs. June Brummer and Glenn Woods of the Annville Little Dut chmen Club; Ruth Arnold, Avon-East Lebanon Club; Gail Shiner, Myerstown Raiders; Ethel Bollinger, Fort Zellers Club; Larry Moyer, Norsolebco; Mrs. Homer Kreider, South Mountain; Sara Miller, Elco Dairy; Linda Boyer, North Cornwall Trail Blazers; Larry Arnold, County Livestock Club. Receiving a 10 year pin was Dorothy Moyer, leader in the Norsolebco Club. Her husband, Albert received a 15 year award with Cedar Crest Dairy Club. Also receiving a 15 year award was Harold Sellers of the South Mountain Guta. Mrs. Lester Long of Camp belltown has served 20 years.
