WASHINGTON, D.C. -
Secretary of Agriculture Bob
Bergland has announced
that the support price for
manufacturing milk will be
$9.64 per hundredweight for
the new marketing year
which began Oct. 1. The
announced price is for milk
with a milkfat content of 3.5
per cent and compares with
the old support of $9.21. The
support price for milk with
the U.S. annual average
milkfat content of 3.67 per
cent is now $9.87, compared
with the old support of $9.43
The law requires that milk
