asked why he is a 4-H Club

father who knows cattle
helps me a lot,” Steve ex
plained. “My father was a 4-

leaders today. He has been
in the dairy business since
the day he was bom.”
A member of the Eastern
Berks Dairy Club, where he
is currently the game leader,
Steve exclaims that “4-H is
really great; you learn
valuable information about
showing cattle and all other
aspects of dairying.” That’s
important to young Shaw,
who says he’d someday like
to farm on his own or go into
a partnership with his
father. There are 150 acres,
105 of which are tillable, on
the home farm.
Steve and his 17-year old
sister, Wendy, have already
begun a small herd of their
own, the home-bred animals
of which come under the W-S
Linden Loch prefix. Wendy,
like her brother, is very
much interested in dairy
cattle. She has four state
Junior Holstein Show titles
to her credit, the most recent
one coming just last week
when she won the Penn
sylvania FFA Holstein
division. It was the second
year in a row that she ac
complished that feat. In the
two previous years she won
the Pennsylvania 4-H
Holstein division cham
pionships.

year was a cow which was
