100 —Lancaster Farming, Saturday, October 7,1978 State 4 UNIVERSITY PARK - Two Lancaster County young adults, who have compiled outstanding records in 4-H work, are state contest winners in the 1978 4-H National Awards Program. Named were Deborah Enders, of Lancaster, state winner in conservation; and Nancy Marie Wenger, IP, of Stevens Rl, state nominee for an animal science scholarship. Deborah will receive an expense-paid trip to National 4-H Congress in Chicago, November 26 to 30, and compete for awards at the national level. Nancy’s 4-H records will be entered in national competition with scholarship selections to be announced during the national conference. A member of the Mount ville 4-H Community Club, she served as president, song leader, and assisted with dub activities and events as a teen leader. The state conservation contest winner completed projects in wildlife con servation, knitting, sewing, babysitting, design with form, and teen leadership. Locally, Deborah took part in the 4-H day camp, dress revue, queen contest, and achievement day. Commenting on the values of the educational youth program, Deborah said: “4- H has given me an op portunity to learn new skills. It also has given me the opportunity to learn the meaning of responsibility.” Nancy, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noah Wenger, is a junior at the Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture, majoring in animal husbandry.
