It is the oldest such organization in the country, and will be holding its 100th annual convention in Harrisburg, September 19-21. The upcoming PennAg convention wifi feature numerous nationally and internationally known speakers, and informative, interesting and educational programs. During the signing of the Agribusiness Day proclamation, Governor Shapp, who will participate in ttte PennAg Convention next week, noted that the PennAg Industries Association is the oldest state agribusiness association in the United States. When the Association kicks off its centennial meeting on Wednesday,. Included in the PennAg Centennial convention will be a golf tournament n Sept. 19, at 11 a.m. at the West Shore Country Club, a fraktur demonstration by Julia Kohler at 2 p.m. and displays of products at 8 p.m. The Wednesday program will feature Governor Shapp and several noted specialists who will look at the nation’s economy, energy and en vironment. Special activities on Wednesday morning include stone dressing. millwrighting, and quilting. At 2 p.m. there will be a tour to the William Penn Museum. The Buckwheat Institute of America meets at the same time. Thursday morning, at 9 o’clock, will feature a panel of presidents who will give their own interpretations as to what agribusiness can expect in coming years. A special program on spinning and weaving will be given by Judith Eby of Dover. Stone dressing and millwrighting will be featured again. The total agribusiness sales for 1972, the latest year for which these census figures are available, were $1.3 billion in Pennsylvania.
