Ni-Crete Farms wins Franklin Holstein show CHAMBERSBURG - For the third consecutive year, Ni-Crete Barbara R Citation, an aged cow owned by T.K. Nitterhouse, Chambersburg, won the senior and grand championship honors at the Franklin County Open Holstein Show. The stylish cow spearheaded a show string which led to Nit terhouse’s winning of the coveted Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor Banners. Nitterhouse, whose herd is managed by George Cashell, also owned the reserve senior and grand champion cow, which had the second best udder of the show. She was Ni-Crete Janpast Apollo, the first-place 4-year old. The champions, plus the first-place 2-year old (also best udder of show) teamed up to win the Best Three Females and Dairy Herd classes. The 2-year old, Ni- Crete Tri-Star Sarperf-OC was reserve grand champion at the Pennsylvania State Holstein Show last Spring. . Senior and grand cham pion 4-H honors went to Harvest DEKALB Hybrids For Big Yields Deborah Cashell, Cham bersburg R 6, for her second place and second best udder 2 yr. old (open), first place 4- H, named Ad-Lo Brian Nanny. The reserve senior and reserve grand champion 4-H entry belonged to Steven Eckstine, Mercersburg R 2, He exhibited a 2-year old, Meadow-Vu Elevation Karen. Junior Champion (open -and 4-H) was a junior yearling, owned by Paul Cashell, Deborah’s brother. This heifer, No-Crete Comap Flame, was junior champion at the 4-H Roundup earlier in the week.
