—Lancaster Fanning, Saturday, September 2,1978 60 Farm Women Societies Lancaster Co. Society 5 The August meeting of Lancaster County Farm Women Society 5 was held m the Blue Mountains, at the There is a new arrival in the sheep flock on the Borry farm and its name is Moped A five month old lamb that promises to be a beauty, from the moment the animal walked onto the place she had control of the entire operation You see, Moped has one slight problem, if you can call it that She has decided that she prefers human company to that of the four legged creatures She would rather go for a walk with me than sleep under the shade trees with her woolie buddies She prefers the grass in the yard where she can see the occupants of the house over that m the pasture When she feels that she has been neglected for far too long she comes to the gate, sticks her head through, and voices her complaints loudly and continuously Unfortunately, this has not en deared her to some of the family members She earned her name Moped because she is all movement She doesn’t walk, she bounds from one spot to another with great energy Afraid to miss anything that happens on the place, she rushes about checking to make sure that everything is going as it should She may be the new animal in the flock but she is sure that she can manage everything on the 50 acres better than all others Already she leads the pack , The only way to get her attention off ‘bossing the world' is to rattle the feed bucket Then she flies to her pen from wherever she is, with her ears flopping the whole way And as long as there is grain in her dish, peace rules But as soon as she is done eating, the newest overseer will be back checking on life on the farm, and making sure that those humans are doing their work Old Guard Ddqsoqd’gidqgq Gompamw "Friend of Farmerssmce 1896 " mm Ask about our FARMOWNER’S policy It is designed to give you the very broadest coverage at the most reasonable cost We believe it is the finest policy you can buy See our agent in your area MELVIN E.
