Fay Stnckler from Ex tension was the guest speaker for the program Canning and freezing fruits and vegetables was the subject for the evening A family picnic was planned for August 27 at Yetto’s grove. The picnic will start at 12:30 p m. A day trip was planned for August 2 to Schaeffer’s Brewery, Hoedale Research Organic Farm, and Crystal Cave, leaving at 8 a.m. An invitation has been received from Society 10 for BOU-MATIC MILKING QUALITY a Nite of Entertainment at Hamburg Center on Mon day, October 16 at 7 30 p m One of the members from the group, Mrs Nora Sweitzer, gave the invitation to the ladies and their families for swim party and covered dish lunch for the evening of August 8 Ram date is August 10 The preseident reported on the County Board Meeting Items discussed mcluded two offices, vice president and secretary, which need to be filled at the end of the present officers term, Berks Heim needing bibs and snack foods, and a donation by the County Board given to the Milk Promotion for Dairy Princess A donation of cookies will be given to Berks Heim by Society 6 Lancaster Co, Society 8 Lancaster County Farm Women Society 8 met at the Stonebndge Farm, the home of Mr. and Mrs John Henry Brubaker, July 15. Mem bers, husbands and guests enjoyed a full course picnic meal, provided by the Brubakers Twenty-three members and more than 30 visitors and husbands at tended. A brief meetmg was held by members which was called to order by Kathryn Heisey, president. The Farm Women’s Picnic will be held August 2 at Lancaster County Park, in Pavilion No 3 at noon. Members are asked to bring one dish of food and their own place setting. A county wide Homemakers Camp is being held August 15 to 17 at Camp Swatara, near Bethel.
