Steve Kauffman has grand champion ; QUARRYVILLE - Steve Kauffman, the 16-year old son of Mr. an Mrs. Robert Kauffman, Elizabethtown, captured his first grand champion title at the Lan caster County 4-H Dairy Show on Wednesday. It was held here at the Solanco Fairgrounds. Stepping into the ring with Penn Springs Astronaut Cerma, classified VG-87, the young Holstein breeder edged an entry by Sandra Frey of Willow Street. Miss Frey, 19, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Mowery Frey, Jr. Her entry, Fultonway Standout Pansy, is a 4-year old, as is Kauff man’s champion. Arlen Keener, Elizabethtown, won the junior champion banner in the show with his August-Hill Rockman Leseyla, a senior yearling. Winning the reserve banner was Phil Crouse of Stevens, showing Hempstead Elevation Faith, also a senior yearling. Phil Crouse and his brother, Neal, both captured additional honors by winning showmanship titles. Neal was the champion senior showman, while his brother picked up the reserve spot.
