From that enthusiastic beginning has sprung a phenomenon which is spreading throughout other western European countries like wildfire. Houck notes that six tractor pulls will be held in The Netherlands this year and Germany has scheduled two. The new attraction gets top billing in popular farm magazines such as Germany’s Top Agrar and Holland’s Boerdery. Both have devoted numerous pages, complete with color photographs, to the new sport.
