Members were given recipes and watched a demonstration of Crepes Florentine, Mushroom & Ham Crepes, Black Forest Crepes, and Flaming Crepes. The results were served and enjoyed by all. Program for the evening was a talk on nutrition, given by Ruby Esbenshade. Before the meeting, members met at Conestoga View to sing hymns for the guests residing there. The next meeting of the group will be April 27 at the Farm and Hume Center. Society 15 and county of ficers will be entertained. Refreshments were served after the meeting. After brief committee reports, the president in stalled three new members to the society. They were Sue Bixler, Sande Ober, and Joyce Wagner. The program was turned over to the evenings speaker, Trudy Hamm, of Eileen’s Health Club, Manheim. She gave a talk on resting, dieting, and exer cising. Society members then participated in 20 minutes of exercises. The Hostess and co hostess Lois Wells served refreshments to the mem bers. . Lancaster Co Society 31 The Lancaster County Farm Women Society 31 met April 18, at the Mechanic Grove Brethren Church. A short business meeting was held. The group entertained Society 20. For the program Mrs. Miriam Layman spoke about “The Seasons of Women”. Also Mrs. Robert Wagner sung two songs. The group will be en tertained April 27, for a noon meal at Mechanic Grove Brethren Church by Society 17. Our next meeting will be held May 22, at the home of Mrs. Kenneth Rutt, Quarryville R 2. Lebanon Co, Society 5 The Lebanon County Farm Women Society 5 held their April meeting at the home of Janice Light. Twenty-one members and one guest attended. President Minerva Lentz conducted the business meeting. Members received their tickets to the Spring Rally to be held at the Lancaster Farming, Saturday, April 22,1978 Hershey Convention Hall, Hershey. Bus trips were discussed at the meeting and the group decided to tour the western part of Pa., including the West Mooreland Glass Company and the Bedford Village. Cost of the trip is $l2. The bus will leave on May 24 at 4:30 a.m. Northern Lebanon student Jill Walmer will receive an award of $lO for being the outstanding home economics student. Essays are wanted from girls between the ages of 14 and 18. They should be en titled “The advantages of being a farm girl over a city girl”. The winner of the contest will be named the Farm Girl Queen. Safety posters were judged by the program committee. York Co Society 1 On April 5, the York County Farm Women Society 1 met at the home of Mrs. Mary Decker, York. The meeting was in charge of President Mrs. Pauline Rishel. During the meeting, Mrs. Iva Craft, Mrs. Mabel Rishel, and Mrs. Jessie Gross were honored for their outstanding activities in the community.
