according to the Penn
sylvania Crop Reporting
Service.
Placements of broiler
chicks in the commonwealth
were 2,135,000, seven per
cent more than in the
previous week. Average
placements during the past
ten weeks were 13 per cent
above a year earlier.
Placements of broiler
chicks m the 21 poultry
states were 73,429,000, one
per cent above the previous
week and four per cent more
than the same week a year
ago.
Average placements of
broiler chicks in the 21 states
during the past ten weeks
were four per cent above a
year ago. Broiler-fryers
slaughtered in Pennsylvania
under federal inspection
during the week ending
March 22 totaled 1,748,000,
with an average weight of
3.89 pounds.
