—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, March 25,1978 20 Solanco salutes top FFA members By DIETER KRIEG QUARRYVILLE - A one acre com harvest of 209 bushels per acre is just one of numerous achievements which gave Solanco senior Les Hershey the distinguished honor of being named the Star Keystone Farmer of the Solanco FFA Chapter. It was one of several awards the 17-year old youth received during a parent-member recognition banquet held here a week ago at the high school. Hershey, the Star Keystone Fanner of the group, also was named the most outstanding vo-ag student at Solanco. The &ir honor came to him from the Farm Women No. 20 of southern Lancaster County. His com production yield of 209 bushels per acre earned him a trophy sponsored by Cope and Weaver, area dealer for International Harvester farm equipment.
