His is a complicated farm to run, requiring some outside labor, year-round work, and long days during certain times of the year. His progress has been steady with a minimum number of disaster years. There is a place for the small farmer - small in acres but big in management know-how and big in the willingness to operate a complicated agricultural enterprise.
