Elected to the board were: Dale W. Peifer, Kirkwood Rl; Kenneth M. Rutt, Edgefield Road, Quarryville; and Joseph C. Wivell, Columbia Rl. In the two-year old category in butterfat production, Dan S. Stoltzfus, Mount Joy R 3, was given a plaque for his cow “Hayseed,” who produced 836 pounds. Allrecords for these awards were 305 days. The sire of Hayseed was Penstate Ivanhoe Star. The two-year-old winner in the milk production category was “Ellen,” owned by Landis Weaver, Quarryville R 2, with 25,790 pounds. Her sire was Paclamar Tribune. J.Z. Nolt, Leola, won both the milk and fat awards m the three-year-old class with his cow “Bonnie,” with 26,378 milk and 957 pounds fat. Henry Kettering ac cepted the award for Nolt. High four-year-old in the fat class was “Daen,” owned by Nelson Martin, Ephrata Rl, with 1,078 pounds. She too was sired by Penstate Ivanhoe Star. Brintian Acres, Quarryville, received the award for the four-year-old milk class for No. 104 with 20,724 pounds. Brintian Acres is the estate of the late Dr. James Cox. Aged cow honors went to Rhelda and Lynn Royer, 2025 .Oregon Pike, Lancaster, for their “Sparkle,” who produced 1,149 pounds of fat. In milk production in the aged cow class, James High received a plaque for Lucky” who produced 27,850 pounds of milk. The awards were presented by Robert L. Kauffman, Jr. Greg Landis, junior project chairman, presented certificates in milk and fat contest conducted by the state association.
