Lebanon County Farm Women hold convention ByKENDACEBORRY LEBANON - The Lebanon County Farm Women Society held their 37th an nual convention October 22 at the Lebanon Area Vo- Tech School, Lebanon, Pa. Approximately 200 people attended the workshops and luncheons scheduled throughout the day. Officers for the County Society were elected. In cluded as officers for the Lebanon County Farm Women Society are; President, Mrs. Harvey Krall, first vice president, Mrs. Mane Stemmetz; second vice president, Mrs. Kenneth Sellers; secretary, Mrs. Ronald Royer; treasurer, Mrs. Dennis Grumbine, and publicity chairman, Mrs. Eugene Lausch. A member of Lebanon Co. Society 3, Mrs. Harvey Krall, Anneville, resides on a 175 acre com, soybean, and vegetable farm with her family. Besides the Farm Women Society, she lists her activities as being involved with the Midway Church of the Brethren. Her hobbies include sewing, knitting, crotcheting, ceramics, reading, and traveling. First vice president Marie E. Steinmetz, Klein feltersville, has been in volved with farm activities all her life. She was a charter member of Lebanon Co. Society 9, and has served as that group’s president, and secretary, besides holding county offices. She attends Trinity United Methodist Church of Kleinfeltersville, and enjoys readmg, crocheting, good music, walking, and visiting with friends. Mrs. Kenneth Sellers, Lebanon R 4, who is begin ning a term as second vice president, lives with her family on an 85 acre dairy farm. A member of Society 11, she is also an assistant Sunday school teacher and a 4-H team leader advisor. Her hobbies include sewing, knitting, and crafts. Mrs. Dennis Grumbme Myerstown R 2, treasurer foi the county group, is £ member of the Society 2. Hei husband is farm machinery salesman and along wit! their two sons, they live on i com and hog farm. Beside: the farm women society involvement, she drives i school bus and is active ir Junior Women’s Club ant churchwork. She enjoy: outdoor sports, baking anc cooking. New Pubhcicity chair man, Mrs. Grace Lausch Myerstown R 3, is a membei of Society 4. Besides her jot as a housewife, she is in volved with churchwork, ano lists her hobbies as sewing and crocheting. Besides the election ol officers at the county con vention, many activities and programs were held. In cluded were a bazaar, business meeting, memorial service and the presentation of attendance awards. Special features of the program were inspirational music given by Dawn and Randy Marks, who sang and accompanied themselves, and John Bell, who presented a senes of pan tomines including a restaurant scene, church scene, and a situation of changing a baby’s diaper. There are 19 groups of farm women societies m Lebanon County, and each group has their own meetings. As a county group the ladies sponsor safety meetings, attend state conventions and spring rallies. The Society sponsors a yearly county scholarship, supports the 4-H develop ment fund, and the dairy princess contest. Each club of the society works with therr own service projects and programs. Mortgage rates eased HARRISBURG - Com monwealth National Bank announces an expansion of its mortgage service to bring home purchases more easily within reach of a greater number of families through smaller down payment and lower monthly repayments. Trail ride set KUTZTOWN - The Crystal Spring Rough Riders will have a 4-H trail ride on November 6 at the Elton H. Sundav.Farm, beginning at 1 p.m. Ram date for me event is November 13. Spring teritany is a magnesium deficiency of concern to hvestock men with herds grazing on Spring and early-Summer pastures under certain conditions.
