Kathy Delmotte and (Continued on Page U 3) the farm of leaders, Darnel and Rose Fellenbaum, held a variety of classes to test the wits and imagination of any rider, along with some standard contests to challenge those who wanted to try their luck One of the more unusual classes was a “polebending class with a tennis racket and ball.” In a normal pole bending class, riders have to weave their horse back and forth between poles, with the fastest time winning the event. But in the Boots and Saddle class, besides weaving the horse in and out through the poles, the riders had to carry a tennis racket and balance a tennis ball. If the tennis ball fell off the racket, the rider dismounted and picked it up. Fastest time still won the event. Another fun class was the wheel barrel race, involving two people, and one horse. One person pushed a wheelbarrow down the ring, while the nder ran his horse down the ring and around a barrel. Then he dismounted, and one of the two people climbed into the wheel barrel while the other pushed him back across the ring, still leading the horse. About 25 riders par ticipated in the fun show throughout the afternoon SAVE 'h OF | THE COST OF | SPRAY PAINTING BARNS | •By having rt done right' M • Like you want it done p I • With latest equipment i I •Crashed properly with the i I real 6” paint brush p l*By one who is self-p I employed | § • Using the original proven p i barn paint r 'l p • Check with my recent work p 1 near your place p I PHARESS.
