Princess Twila Brubaker, and Lancaster Mayor Richard Scott (right) all tried to
pull the most milk out of Nedra, a Guernsey provided by the Raymond Witmer
family, Willow Street, at the Park City shopping mall on Tuesday evening. In the
official tally, Tracy came up the winner of the milking contest.

Jars and jars of honey in the Park City shopping
mail attracted more shoppers than bees. The
honey display was part of the Lancaster County
Farmers Association mail promotion.

LANCASTER - “Will egg
punch mix with chocolate
milk?” asked one passer-by
in the Park City shopping
mall this week when Lan
caster County Poultry Queen
alternate Christine Erb
offered her a free sample of
“Gold Strike Punch,” a
drink made with eggs,
orange juice, and honey.
Miss Erb was working in the
poultry spoke of the wheel
shaped shopping center
where the Lancaster County
Farmers Association was
featuring a mall promotion
to generate understanding
between consumers and
producers. Obviously, the
consumer in question had
previously visited the dairy
mall where free milk
samples were handed out.
Along with Miss Erb in the
poultry area was a giant
feathered chicken who

tickled the fancy of many
children as they sat upon his
lap to talk turkey, an in
cubator to delight adult and
child, an egg grader, an
information booth, and a
turkey display.
Other areas of the shop
ping center were filled with
displays of machinery,
livestock, and fruit as well as
_ demonstrations of crafts,
sheep shearing, beef fitting,
and commodity cooking, to
name a few of the events and
displays that filled the
- weeklong event.
To begin the mall
promotion, Pennsylvania
Secretary of Agriculture
Kent D. Shelhamer visited
the shopping center and told
the Farmers’ Association
members that he liked to
visit Lancaster County
because “things are being
done properly here.
“Lancaster County
agriculture is out on top of
