Ken admits to having
friends that he met in 4-H
scattered throughout that
state.
Although he hasn’t par

national trips, he did earn
the opportunity to attend the

Although Ken does say

4-H offers
And, this year, his hobby
turned into a full fledged
business when he and his
family grew three acres of
strawberries which they
marketed by “pick-your
own.”
“It was more like a
money-making venture than
a project,” Ken says
The three acres , • e
planted on land belou oi to
the city of Lebanon and
located only about a mile or
so from the heart of town.
“It was a pretty good
year,” Ken says. “We’ve
found there’s always a
market for strawberries,”
And what are Ken’s plans
now that his tune is up in 4-
H?
“I may become a leader,”
he says, although his plans
aren’t finalized.
