freshened in past 60 days, 7 due to freshen within 30
days, balance in different stages of lactation. Includ
ed are 9 first calf heifers which have freshened in
past month. Holstein service sire. 10 Holstein heifers
bred to beef type bull to freshen Jan. & Feb. This is a
mostly young herd with good size & production.
Pregnancy examined by vet. All cows Bangs & T.B.
tested within 30 days; bred heifers to stay in state.

Miss Seeds took the grand
champion and senior
champion with her “Avon
Lea CE Buttercup”, the
animal that was supreme
champion cow, overall, for
Miss Seeds at the Allentown
Fair, earlier this fair season.

in Hampshires. He was se
cond in showmanship and
first in fitting.
Daniel Schlegal, Oley,
had the grand champion
sow of all breeds, a Chester
White junior yearling sow,
and a long list of first and
second placings throughout
the show. He has been
showing at the Fair for 31
years. Among his other win
ners were the champion and
reserve champion boar
pigs, a March boar and an
April boar, respectively.
