Mase wins Brown Swiss show * ALLENTOWN - Gary Mase, 15, won just about every prize there was to win at the FFA Dsitrict Dairy Show held here last month. A member of the Little Dut chman FFA Chapter, Mase had the two top cows in the, show, captured the premier breeder-exhibitor trophy, and was chosen a master fitter and showman. The noors given him the right to go onto state competition on Sept. 26 in Harrisburg. Mase’s grand champion is a 3-year old sired by Rolling Meadows Alaric. His reserve champion was another home-bred animal, sired by White Cloud Doreen’s Delegate. Lee Ferguson, 18, from southern Lancaster County, Von the junior champion honor with his senior yearling. Sean Hudson scores 67 WOODSTOWN, N.J. - Junior Bull Rider, Sean Hudson of Sharptown, N.J.. made the highest mark September 3, at the Cowtown Rodeo. The judges awarded Sean a 67 for riding lus bull the full six seconds required in the Junior contest. Runners up were: Josh Hackett, with a mark of 65; Jimmie Young marking 60 and Mike Mickelack a 45. With the points for the Cowtown Rodeos held away from Cowtown during the month of September remaining to be tallied, the trophie buckles are still up for grabs. The only contestant assured of winning is Lorraine Alexander. The Barrel Racer from Newton, N.J., has accumulated such a lead that the winners of the remaining performances would have no bearing on her award. Lorraine ran the barrels this week in 17.37 second and won. At the home rodeo, Stanley Thomas marked a 63 on a re ride in the Bareback Contest awarded- to him by judges Joe Merola and Chris Gerhardt. Stanley is from Woodstown, N.J. Joe Merola of Penns Grove, N.J. is still leading in the Calf Roping, Joe took first time at 17.2 seconds. The Steer Wrestling event was won by Jack MeU, of St. Cloud, Fla. in a fast 5.3 seconds. This season’s arena record is 4.8 seconds, held by Anthony Manecbino of Staten Island, N.Y. The Bull Riding was won by Bob Carrol of Philadelphia, Pa. Bob marked a 58. There was no contest m the Saddle Bronc event, as the rules of the Rodeo Cowboy’s Association state that that there must be five contestants for an event to be valid.
