    Food surveillance
bill expected soon
WASHINGTON, D.C. -
Food and the food industry is
expected to come under
investigation again soon with
the introduction fo a new
food surveillance bill.
Coining on the heels of
developments in the 94th
Congress which witnessed
numerous such bills, it is not
surprising that a bill would
be dropped in the hopper
early in this 95th session,
according to United Egg
Producers, which reported
this development in it s Feb.
24 newsletter United Voices.

Twin Valley FFA wins
in county contest
ELVERSON, Pa. - Nine
members of the Twin Valley
Future Fanners of America
earned awards in the Berks
County FFA project record
book contest. All vocational
agriculture students and
FFA members are required
to keep a record of some
project during the school
year. These projects may be
productive in nature (raising
an animal or crop), may be
a job (working for a farmer
or agribusinessman), or
may be supervised skill
development at school
(working in the nursery,
orchard, or shop during
study periods or after
school).
Record books on these
projects are judged by the
vocational agriculture
teachers on the basis of
accuracy, completeness, and
neatness. Books which earn
awards in the county con
tests were then eligible to
compete in the Pennsylvania
contest, which took place
this week.
