Helping with the holding Robert Herr ' Narvon RZ - Champion lamb brings $lO HARRISBURG - There were no record prices paid for market lambs at the annual sale at the 61st Farm Show; however, figures were well above the current market prices. Angela Fought, of Carlisle, Cumberland County, received $lO per pound for her grand champion in dividual lamb, a 117-pound Hampshire. Buyer was Fox Foods, Inc., of 101 South Union Street, Middletown. The record price of $32 was set in 1972. The grand champion pen of lambs, Hampshires, exhibited by Elizabeth Herr, Narvon, Lancaster County, was sold to Acme Markets, of 124 North 15th Street, Philadelphia, for $1.50 per pound. The record price of $4.25 per pound was set at last year’s Farm Show. The grand champion carcass lamb, weighing 55 pounds and exhibited by Elizabeth Herr, of Narvon, was sold to her father and mother. Dr. and Mrs. Robert Herr, for $2.85 per pound. The record price in carcass classes is $5 per pound. The reserve grand champion individual lamb, a 125-pound Suffolk shown by •William MacCauiey, of 3726 Gradyville Road, Newtown Square, Chester County, was sold to W. Donald Tem pleton, of Ebensburg, for $3.50 per pound. Mr. Tem pleton is donating the lamb to the Cambria County Nursing Home. The reserve grand champion pen of lambs, Suffolks, consigned by Sarah Brubaker, of 2418 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, was sold to George’s Foodliner Market, of Bethelehem, for $1.40 per pound. The reserve grand champion carcass lamb, consigned by Barbara Herr, of RD 2, Narvon, was sold to James Bailey, of Blueball for $1.50 per pound.
