Remove from heat. Add sweetened condensed milk, salt, vanilla extract, and nut meats, if used. Stir only until It] smooth. Turn into waxed paper-lined 8-mch square pan; spread mixture evenly and smooth surface. Refrigerate about two hours or until firm. Turn candy out onto cutting board. Peel off paper. With a sharp knife, cut fudge into serving size pieces. Store in airtight container. XXX CHRISTMAS SALAD 3-Vz cups water 2 packs lime jello 1 large can crushed pineapples, drained 1 pint whipped cream 1 (8-ounce pack) cream cheese 2 packs gelatine 3 packs cherry jello and 4 or 4Vz cups water Mix lime jello with 3-% cups water and add drained pineapples. Chill. Soak gelatine in pineapple juice until dissolved. Cook and cool. Whip cream and cream cheese and pour juice in whipped cream and over green jello and chill. XXX PEANUT BRITTLE CANDY 2 cups white sugar 1 cup white syrup Vz cup water Cook until it cracks when tried in cold water. Then add two cups unroasted peanuts and one teaspoon butter. Cook this until golden brown. Then take from heat and add two teaspoons soda and one teaspoon vanilla. Stir hard and quick; pour in greased tins or pans.
