The champion heavy weight was purchased by Ontelaunee Lions Club, New Tripoli, Pa. The beef was exhibited by Diane Krause, Lehigh County, and weighed 1193 pounds. It sold for 72 cents per pound. The reserve champion light weight steer weighing 1015 pounds sold for 54 cents per pound and was bought by George’s Foodliner. This steer was exhibited by Dale Guest, Northampton County. Carol Krause, Lehigh County, showed the reserve champion heavy weight steer weighing 1291 pound. The animal was purchased by Schoeneck International, Schnecksville, for 60 cents per pound. The grand champion in dividual lamb, weighing 107 pounds was sold at $1.75 per pound to George’s Foodliner. It was owned by Sarah Fretz, Lehigh County. The grand champion pen of lambs, exhibited by Gail Snyder, Lehigh County, was purchased by George’s Foodliner. The pen of lambs weighed 275 pounds and was sold at $1.35 per pound. Haftl Meats, purchased the reserve grand champion lamb for 95 cents per pound. The total weight of the 46 steers in the sale was 50,523 pounds and the total sale was $25,728.46. The lambs weighed a total of 3386 pounds and grossed $2,921.30. The average price per pound of the steers with the grand champion included was $50.92. Without the champions the average was 78.66 cents per pound.
