Soybean losses are reduced up to 50 per cent when compared to con ventional platforms (based on a yield of 30 bushels per acre, the savings would translate into approximately 1.5 bushels per acre) and up to 25 per cent when com pared to conventional platforms equipped with floating cutterbars (based on a 30-bushel per acre yield, the savings would be ap proximately % bushel per acre), according to actual field tests. Under the proposed revision, when a seller or shipper does not have enough grain on hand that qualifies for the grade required in the contract, he will be allowed to substitute an unlimited amount of grain that qualifies for a higher grade. The better quality grain will not require a separate grade certificate. Thus, ifthe proposed revision "is adopted, a : shipment of grain may* be' certificated as being, for example, “No. 2 or better.” Segments of the grain export industry have in formed officials of USDA’s during and after cutting for a more efficient job of har vesting. An electric clutch on the Fas-Tach feeder house permits independent shut-off of the bean-grain platform for safer, trouble-free operation. Maximum operator convenience features include in-cab control of reel speed, reel lift, and header height control. An optional automatic header height control is available for the optimum in crop savings. The new Fas-Tach Bean- Grain Platforms are among 11 new pieces of Uni-System farm equipment introduced by Avco New Idea for 1977. Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) that delivery of a higher grade of grain than that specified in the sales contract should not be objectionable to buyers or sellers and should not be construed as a failure to meet contract requirements. Official inspection and grading of grain is man datory for all grain sold by grade for export and voluntary for domestic trade in grain. The applicant for the service must pay a fee to cover the cost of inspection. The proposed change is scheduled to be published in the Nov. 15 Federal Register. Comments will be accepted until Dec. 30 and Mould be sent to the Hearing ■Clerk, Room H2-A,’ CSDA, Washington, DC 20250.
