Kerstetter lauds upcoming
transportation conference
HARRISBURG Pa. -
Raymond J. Kerstetter,
Pennsylvania secretary of
agriculture, last week called
the first annual Penn
sylvania Transportation
Conference a “major step
forward in efforts to provide
transportation services to
the disadvantaged.”
The conference, to be held
Nov. 22-23 at the Holiday Inn
Town in Harrisburg, is
aimed at indentifying the
many types of transportation
problems and will attempt to
coordinate solutions among
the many agencies working
in the area to achieve
maximum results.
Kerstetter expressed his
hope that the conference
would help in the develpment
of a state and national

St., Quarryville, retired
October 1 as a senior checker
in engineering. He began
employment with the
company in 1960 as a
checker.

Boston, the Massachusetts
Council sent Major Shaw
with a "tew Indians enlisted
into the Continental ser
vice," to Washington. “They
made some objection to
travelling so far on foot, a
wagon and horse have been
purchased for the sole pur
pose of conveying them
along."
