Some mornings they sound like rain as they fall on other brittle leaves already j?ff of the trees. We have four birthdates to celebrate within six weeks in the fall and that helps to liven things up as we prepare special meals and decorate birthday cakes. When I realize that several of our children are now in their twenties, I’m really glad that we still have teenagers at home. They keep up going and don’t allow us to settle into middle-age too com fortably. We must provide transportation for music lessons, swimming lessons, and meetings and never really .know what demands the next day will bring. Thus, we keep on the “move” and life is interesting and even exciting at times. The meeting was opened by the vice president, Dorothy Huber. Roll call was answered by 22 members and two guests. The business meeting was taken charge of by the president, Violet Eshelman. Minutes and Treasurers report were given and ap proved. r> ♦ I Sunshine Committee and bus trip reports were given. The following officers were elected: president-Violet Eshelman, Vice-president- Dorothy Huber; recording secretary - Margaret Swarr; corresponding secretary - Mary E. Swarr; treasurer, Esther Wood. Arrangements were completed for attending the county convention and for having a Bazaar Table at the Christmas Party. HARRISBURG, Pa. - Great numbers of women have had to seek em ployment when their husbands lost jobs, or because runaway inflation has made it necessary for both heads of the household to work to cover expenses, according to Marie R. Keeney, director of the Pennsylvania Commission for Women. In addition, she said, an increasing number of women are heads of households and the sole breadwinners for their families. Lancaster Co.
