Gradually introduce
Corn Silage
Dairymen can avoid the
corn silage blues by
gradually introducing their
cows to corn silage. Both the
rumen microflora and lining
must adjust to a major
change m ration...such as
the introduction of corn
silage. This adjustment may
require two to four weeks or
more.

Need Water
Plants with shallow roots
such as azaleas,
rhododendrons, mountain
laurel, and flowering
dogwood need frequent
waterings. It is a good
practice to continue
watering these plants on a
regular basis until the
ground freezes during fall.
