Chester lambs WEST CHESTER - The Chester-Delaware County 4- H Sheep Show was held Sept. 10 at Rosetree Park, Media with approximately 35 4-H members exhibiting six breeds of sheep. Michele Stone, Pottstown, was named champion first year showman with Martha Bates and Leigh Martin, both of Delaware County named champion junior and senior showman respectively. Robert Holmes, Oxford, exhibited the champion commercial ewe and John Arreli of Lincoln University showed the champion Cheviot ewe. In the Dorset breed competition champion ewe was shown by Kathleen Baroni, Downingtown, with her brother Jeff Baroni showing champion Dorset ram and first plate pair class. In the Hampshire breed competition David Lytle, New London, exhibited the champion ewe and ram, as well as the first place pair. A blocking contest for junior and senior members was held as the concluding event of the day, with 13 4-H members participating. First place junior blocker was Martha Bates with Karen Blumenthal of Chester Springs taking the senior honors. Judge for the show was Robert Herr of Narvon. All blue ribbon winners of the day will be eligible to compete in a regional show on Sept. 25 at Kimberton Fairgrounds in which 4-H members from Chester, Delaware, Bucks, Mon tgomery, Berks and Lehigh Counties will be par ticipating.
