Community club elects queen LANCASTER The sixth meeting of the Manheim Township 4-H Community Club was held on July 20 at the home of Mervin Hess. Pennsylvania cooperatives sponsor the program financially, while Penn State provides the educational resources. Although adults are present for the proceedings of the institute, the youths them selves run the program and adults are there for guidance and resources only. Completing the list of winners are: Gary Horn baker, Diane Fumunager, Nadine Herberling, Lloyd Pease, Cheryl Byers, Virginia Maher, and Scott Benton. Laveme Martin of Lan caster County and Janet Hutchinson of Chester County were co-chairman of the event. Dean Weiler and Gary served as discussion leaders, while Kerry Boyd represented the Youth Council. Township club as Junior Queen for the 4-H Achievement Days on August 26 held at the Farm and Home Center. The Lititz-Manheim 4-H Community Club was invited to attend the meeting. To end the get together, Mr. Paul Gehman showed old-time movies.
