Saturday, May 8, 1976 x More hog cholera found State and federal hog cholera quarantines were placed late last week on three southern counties of New Hampshire following the confirmation of hog cholera in a swine herd near New Ipswich in Hillsborough county, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced. Officials of USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) said the infected herd is one of several New Hampshire herds that have been under observation by the state federal hog cholera task force operating in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. The infected herd of about 600 hogs will be destroyed. Besides Hillsborough the New Hampshire counties being placed under quarantine are Cheshire and Rockingham.
