Grange youth ambassadors
to gather at nat’L meet
Selection of the 1976 National Grange Prince. Princess
and Young Couple of the Year will be held during the
1 irange's national convention, Nov. 10-18 in Columbus,
Ohio.
Grange youth representing 38 states will undergo
personal interviews, written exams and submit for review
a written report on their Grange, community and school
activities.
Announcement of the winners will be made at ..
Coronation Pageant, November 15 by William Steel.
National Grange Youth Director. The winners will
represent the National Grange throughout 1976 at various
meetings, conferences and youth camps. In addition, they
will spend a week in Washington, D.C. in January 1976.
Youth Director Steel said each candidate for the
national honor has already been selected state Grange
Prince, Princess and Young Couple. “Each year the
judging becomes more difficult,’’ said Steel, “as young
people realize the importance of being involved in their
communities and actively seek leadership roles.”

will be the Chairman of the 1975 National Grange
Agriculture Committee at the Grange’s 109th Annual
Session, Nov. 10-18 in Columbus, Ohio

Silvers' committee will prepare a preliminary report
from resolutions submitted by 38 state Granges. Among
the topics expected to be covered in the report will be
farm programs, export controls, land use, food stump
program, environmental practices and farm credit plus
many other areas of interest to U S. producers.

National Grange Master
praises grain agreement
WASHINGTON - “We commend the Ford Ad
ministration for successfully negotiating an agreement to
sell specified amounts of wheat and com to the Soviet
Union over a five year period,” said John Scott, Master of
the National Grange at a legislative briefing here last
week.
Scott, who heads the country’s oldest farm organization,
said the agreement will now give U.S. wheat and corn
farmers a solid reason to plant full production and will
also help to protect dairy and livestock producers from
unexpected fluctuations in livestock feed prices.
