Susan was awarded a red ribbon for her talk on the State level. Speaking on her personal growth in 4-H, Susan com mented. Although seasoned at public speaking, the Kphrata youth would like to try a different phase of 4-H next year by perhaps serving on a team such as the rifle team competition. Susan has been a Junior winner In the dress revue and has also been a Junior alternate. This summer, Susan made a pants suit of blue denim material trimmed with red calico print Along with her regular sewing, Susan likes to create doll clothes. The young lady exhibits her sewing at the Kphrata fair along with baked goods which is also a favorite past time At Kphrata Junior High School, Susan was a member of the gymnastics club and was the secretary of the Student Council. She is also active in the Bergstrausse Church youth group and choir. A freshman at Ephrata Senior High School this fall, Susan has not yet decided on the clubs she would like to join but is waiting to see what will be offered. A multi-talented young lady, Susan also liked to draw and has done some portrait work which shows much promise. She has also designed bulletin covers for 4-H clubs. ’Although the 4-H season has passed for this year, Susan is looking forward to the new projects she will try next season. The young lady would like to join a com munity club to expand on her interests and while Susan has several years of 4-H work to go, she has already become an outstanding example of what hard work and determination can bring about.
