\ 46—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, Junt 14, 1975 Farm Women County Posts Appointed Recently Mrs. Carl Johnson, president of Lancaster County Society of Farm Women, conducted an executive board meeting Tuesday, June 3, at the Manor Brethren in Christ Church. Hostesses for the day were Mildred Charles, Society 3, Serena Groff, Society 14 and Janet Zeiset, Society 30. In a report on the Farm & Home Center, Mrs. Johnson advised that they had donated ten scholarships this year and are now planning a Flower Show, October 11 and 12. Decorating - Velma Goss, Chairperson, Marian Weaver, Arlene Eshleman and Gertrude Habecker. 21st Kempton Fair Set For June 20-22 Featuring a newly con structed stage that includes a covered seating area for over 1500 persons, the 21st annual Kempton County Fair will be held June 20 to 22. Nestled in the beautiful rolling countryside of upper Berks County, the fair itself reflects the area and is an authentic rural festivity. Attraction highlights in clude the selection of Es Lieblicbat Maedel - the Pennsylvania Dutch queen contest; a baking contest, a tractor pulling contest, a Saturday horse show with 28 Ushers - Susan Kauffman, Chairperson, and Judy Erb. Dinner Tickets - Serena Groff and Emma Ruth Peiffer. Bazaar - Kathryn Horner, Chairperson, Hazel Aliment, Robbie Galston, Gerry Buckwalter and Janet Zeiset. Mrs. Johnson urged each society president to bring names of all members sewing Centennial Dresses for the County Convention to the August meeting. Homemakers Camp, to be held at Camp Swatara on August 25,26, and 27 has for its theme “Know Your Neighbor”. Crafts featured are rya, quilling and macrame. The meeting was opened by Carol Balmer with 65 members in attendance. The Start Stitching members are making slippers with leaders Judy Leaman, Clair Beatty, Mary Ann Lehman, Martha Andes and Mrs. Royer. Older members are making shirts with leaders Julie Hartranft and Deb Weist. Mrs. Edith Nolt and Virginia Boduck are leaders for' the girls making an outfit. Those members making a dress with sleeves are under the guidance of Deb Myers. The free lance members are under the direction of Miriam Moore and Nancy Good.
