There will be 106 Pennsylvania fairs this year eligible for a slice of the Department of Agriculture's fair fund budget Locally, there are a total of 21 fairs, starting with the Reading Pair June 21-28, and continuing on through the year until the Pennsylvania Farm Show which is slated for January 5-9,1971. A trophy and prizes will be given to farmers that have the highest yields. Those who are interested in par ticipating in the contest are reminded that a $5.00 entry fee along with a registration must be turned into the Elizabethtown vo-ag department oy June IS. Rules of the contest are as follows: The contest is open only to members of the E-Town Young Farmers. A |5.00 entry fee required for each plot. All entries must be returned to the vo-ag department by June 15. One entry per person is allowed. Field must be one acre in size and contain only one commercially available variety or hybrid. Irrigated fields cannot be entered. Entries will be harvested under the supervision of the advisor or somebody ap pointed by him. Awards will be given for most yield or tonnage per acre and the highest TDN per acre of silage.
