On the agenda are the president’s address, committee reports, and staff reports from William C. Nichol, Executive secretary; James E. Howes, directors of promotion and Michael W. Young, director of special programs. In addition, a number of awards will be presented to breeders of Holsteins in the state-. J. Z. Nolt, Leola, Elder Vogel, Rochester, and Raymond Edwards, Indiana, and Linda Weaver, Glen moore will be recognized as consignors of the top selling animals at Association sponsored consignment sales. Fifteen herd owners will be recognized for type and production achievements in gaining the Holstein- Friesian Association of Uncaster Farming. In addition to the usual business of the Junior association, awards will be presented to Production Contest Winners and the State Distinguished Junior Members. The finale* of the con vention will be the banquet Friday evening. Hosts for the two-days of activity are Holstein breeders from the Northeast Convention District in cluding the counties of: Bradford, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Potter, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Wayne and Wyoming. '' The Pennsylvania Holstein Association is the largest state dairy breed organization in the U.S. It represents the owners of approximately 150,000 Registered Holstein dairy cattle and provides a complete program of promotion, education, service and merchandising. Silver Spurs Silver Spurs 4-H Club held its monthly meeting at Clicks Trailer Shop on November Ist. President, Randy Click, led the club pledge. Demonstrations were given by Jim Click on trail, Donna Rohrer on riding bareback, Randy Click on horses, Sherri Myers on head markings and Lenny Matron! on grooming. Roll call and dues were taken by junior treasurer, Sue Baker. Both the treasurers’ and secretarys’ reports were given and approved as read. Randy Click read a thank you note from County Council followed by the county council report given by Cherri Gochnauer. Discussed under old business was the Horse Recognition Banquet and the weekend at Valley Lea. The teen-leaders were chosen for the food committee.
