Add beaten egg yolks. Sift flour, then measure. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add milk and flour alternately. Melt chocolate in double boiler. Add boiling water, then soda. Beat and pour in hot. Mix batter. Add vanilla. Beat egg whites till stiff and fold into batter. Bake at 350 degrees. Hostesses for the meeting were Pauline Gordley and Esther Petticoffer. The meeting began by members singing “Onward Christian Soldiers” which was followed by roll call. Lillian Eberly was in charge of the devotions. Members responded to roll call by giving the name of one teacher that they had had. Many members responded by giving the name of Lillian Eberly who was a school teacher. May Donough, vice president, was in charge of the business meeting. The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were read and ap proved. Committee reports were also given. A report on the Turkey Barbeque stand was given by Esther Petticoffer. The motion was made and approved to pay for the engraving of Emma Wogelmuth’s name on the silver bowl purchased for the past county presidents. She was the founder of Society 2. Ticket for the County Convention to be held in November at Lancaster Bible College were given to members. The program for the af ternoon included a white elephant sale with Beulah Graybill as actioneer and an exchange of flowers. The next meeting will be held Oct. 12th at the home of Margie Shelly, RD2, Lititz. All members are encouraged to attend as it will be an important meeting. Society No. 29 will entertain our group on November 18, Our president reminded us to remember the county convention held at the Lancaster Bible College on November 2. A food sale was held as our program this month. The hostesses were Mrs. Merle LeFevre, Elsie Metzler, Mrs. Paul Hostetter and Mrs. Warren Hershey. Society 9 Members of Farm Women Society 9 held their Sep tember meeting at Hickory Farms in Park City for a Cheese Safari, followed by a picnic lunch at Longs Park. Hostesses for the event were, Mrs. George Trout, Mrs. Paul Zercher, Mrs. Paul Swearingen and Mrs. Helen Huber. Mrs. Wilbur Heller was in charge of devotions. Members will gather for the October meeting which will be held Thursday October 10th at the Colemanville United Methodist Church. The group will be sewing at the General Hospital on October 31st.
